Your resident sexpert here bringing you some more great tidbits and advice to spice up your love life and add extra “sabor” to your bedroom. As if a powerful Latina needed more, right? I’d figure we’d go back to school for this week’s lesson: Sex Toys 101 – Jugetes de Placer.
Someone asked me the other day “what is the difference between a dildo and a vibrator?” I explained to this person that a vibrator buzzes while a dildo doesn’t.
This got me thinking about the categories of sex toys. More importantly, how many people don’t know the difference. It is important to understand the categories available so that you and your partner can make an informed buying decision.
Personally speaking, I would much rather know what I need then having to ask the toothless sales guy behind the counter. Just saying.
Before I forget, I would like to educate you on the terminology we use at Onjenoo:
‘C-Spot’ stands for clitoris. ‘G-spot’ is self-explanatory. As are ‘Internal stimulation’, ‘inside’ or ‘V-spot’.
You may read the words ‘vagina’ or ‘vaginally’, but only in a clinical reference.
‘Member’ ,‘manhood’, ’shaft’ is referred to the male penis, and my favorite letter,
‘O’, stands for orgasms not Oprah.
You will see the words ‘penis’, ‘cock’ and ‘vagina’ in tonight’s post. I did try to use the Onjenoo terminology, but it just didn’t look right to write ‘member ring’ as opposed to ‘cock ring’.
Butt, Butt, Butt: Anal Toys
Anal sex toys come in the forms of butt plugs, anal probes, anal beads, anal lubricants, and vibrating versions of plugs and probes. An anal toy will always have a wider base or a T-shaped support. This is so the toy will not get lost in the shuffle and can come out easily. It’s not fun having to trek down to the Emergency Room at 2 a.m. asking for assistance in removing an object from your bum.

You may remember my last article on BDSM for beginners where I said that bondage toys are very popular with couples reaching out to new sexual fantasies.

Storing Sex Toys - The way you store your sex toy determines the lifespan it has. Always store your toy in a cool dry place. The basic things to remember when storing your toy after use is to always take out any batteries, bullets or removable parts when you put it away to avoid leakages or damage, always clean and dry your sex toy after use to stop mould or bacteria growing on it and always keep your toys in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, like under your bed, in a drawer or in a wardrobe wrapped in a towel or a T-shirt.
If you have more than one sex toy keep them wrapped individually before they are stored so that they are not coming into contact with each other as some sex toy materials can be damaging to one another. When cleaning your toy, always use sex toy cleaner and not a household soap, like dishwasher soap or detergent.
Replacing Sex Toys - Sex toys sadly do not last forever so replacing them is inevitable eventually. Be on the lookout for the signs which say it is time to replace your sex toy, check for the obvious things such as tears and cracks on the surface of the sex toy, and also keep an eye on the mechanics of the sex toy, is it working slower than usual, even after the batteries have changed or is it acting strange? If the answer is yes the safe option is to safely dispose of your sex toy and buy a new one.
You can prolong the life of your sex toy by keeping it clean and storing it properly but depending on how often it is used, some sex toys can last a month, others years.
